Privacy Policy

Effective October 17, 2026

Daydrip (“Daydrip”, “we”, “us”) is an online closet: you add your clothes and we suggest outfits that go together. Daydrip is operated by Jamal Watson, a sole proprietor based in the United States. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions? Email support@daydrip.app.

The short version

  • We collect only what the app needs to work: your account, your closet, your city, and what you’ve worn.
  • We don’t sell or rent your personal information, and we don’t show ads.
  • We use one cookie, to keep you logged in.
  • Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
  • Deleting your account deletes your Daydrip data.

What we collect

  • Account details. Your email address, the name you give us, and your password. We store your password only as a salted, one-way hash (scrypt), never in readable form.
  • Your closet. Photos of clothes you upload, and items you type in without a photo (for example “navy hoodie”), plus the details attached to each item: category, color, warmth, dressiness, brand and name.
  • Your city. Used to look up the weather for your daily outfit. Your style preferences (if you set them) are stored too.
  • Wear history. When you tap “Wore it”, we record which items you wore and when, so we can avoid repeating them.
  • Subscription status. Whether you’re on a trial or subscribed, your trial and billing period dates, and the Stripe customer and subscription IDs that link your account to Stripe.
  • Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically processes basic request data (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to deliver the site and keep it secure.

Please don’t upload photos that show people (including yourself), faces, or other personal information. Daydrip is meant for photos of clothes.

How we use it

  • To run your account and log you in.
  • To store your closet and suggest outfits based on your clothes, the weather, your plans and what you’ve worn recently.
  • To manage your free trial and subscription.
  • To keep the service secure, fix problems, and respond when you contact us.
  • To comply with the law.

We don’t use your data for advertising, and we don’t sell it or “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cookies

We set a single cookie, named sid, that keeps you logged in. It’s marked secure and HTTP-only, expires after 30 days, and is removed when you log out. We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. When you go to checkout or the billing portal you’re on Stripe’s pages, and Stripe may set its own cookies under its own policy.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run Daydrip. They process data on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service:

  • Netlify hosts the website and stores your account, closet and photos (Netlify Blobs).
  • Cloudflare provides DNS for daydrip.app (it translates the domain name into an address; your app data doesn’t pass through Cloudflare).
  • Stripe processes subscription payments. You enter your card details directly on Stripe’s checkout page; Stripe may also offer its Link service at checkout. Stripe handles that information under the Stripe Privacy Policy. We receive only limited information back, such as your subscription status and billing dates (and Stripe may share basic details like card brand, last four digits and billing country with us).
  • Open-Meteo provides weather. Our server sends it only your city name (or coordinates derived from it) — not your name, email or IP address.
  • AI photo tagging (optional). If we turn on automatic photo tagging, the photo you upload is sent to the AI provider we use (currently OpenAI or Google Gemini, if enabled) solely to suggest tags such as category and color. When it’s off, tags are guessed on our own server. You can always edit tags.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business (in which case this policy will continue to apply to your data).

How long we keep it

  • We keep your account, closet, photos and wear history for as long as your account exists.
  • Login sessions expire after 30 days or when you log out.
  • When you delete your account (Profile → Delete account), we delete your account record, closet items, uploaded photos (including ones you uploaded but didn’t save), wear history and login sessions from our database right away, and we delete your customer record at Stripe, which cancels any subscription.
  • Some copies may remain for a limited time in our providers’ backups and logs. Stripe keeps payment records it is legally required to retain.

Your rights and choices

Wherever you live, you can:

  • Access and correct your information — most of it is visible and editable in the app (Closet and Profile).
  • Delete your account and data at any time from Profile → Delete account, or by emailing us.
  • Get a copy of your data by emailing us.
  • Cancel your subscription any time from Plan → Manage subscription.

California and other US state residents. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it, to access it, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising. We don’t sell or share personal information in that way. We won’t discriminate against you for using your rights. To make a request, email support@daydrip.app from the address on your account; we may need to verify your identity. You can use an authorized agent where the law allows.

Security

We use HTTPS everywhere, store passwords only as salted hashes, keep your photos private so they’re only shown to you when you’re logged in, and limit access to our systems. No service can guarantee perfect security, so please use a strong, unique password.

Children

Daydrip is not for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Where your data is processed

Daydrip is run from the United States, and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we’ll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app or by email before the changes take effect.
